Durant’s dead weight sinking SuperSonics
Forced to start the WunderKind out of Texas, the Seattle Sonics are 0-5 and are allowing the second most points per game in the NBA at 110. ![]()
Unlike college ball, the NBA plays defense — ridiculous illegal defense rules notwithstanding. The Sonics hit a new low-water mark Wednesday with a 105-98 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. In the loss, Durant was 3-for-17 with two rebounds. Moreover, Durant has 17 turnovers through five games — acceptable numbers for a point guard, unacceptable for a swing man.
Also pulling a plow, the TipOff Talk Towers and Convention Center Plaza Lock of the Night is on a 3-game skid. At 2-3, it is high time to knock back a neat double shot of single malt and pick a winner. That winner, patient friends and colleagues comes in the form of Dallas at Golden State. ![]()
The Mavs are a 5-point favorite on the road and are hot for comeuppance. Further, GS is allowing 119.5 per game. Take the Mavs to cover.
And now … ESPN Radio’s Colin Cowherd noting KD’s inability to bench 185.
